to use a sitcom analogy...

blur = the office

well thought out, subtly layered and resonated with people all over the world as seen by the number of countries who went on to have their own version of ricky gervais' classic, no better example than the american series which went from strength to strength for years after the initial UK version had shown what path to take

oasis = phoenix nights

lots of fun but ultimately gave us max and paddy

Agree with your description of the office, but not sure I agree with using it as an analogy for Blur's success...
