Well, that really. For the past couple of years a friend and I have visited his hometown of Monaghan for the Harvest Time Blues festival in September and a fine old time has been had. If you're nearby and never been, it's a great weekend on the Guinness. This year we were thinking of pushing the envelope a little and was wondering if anyone (particularly the Merkins amongst us, although all-comers are welcome to chime in) knew of anything tha fits the bill. Got to be July though.

Bear in mind we may well follow your instructions, so in among the comedy retorts, any suggestions which won't end up with us getting bummed, shot, or bummed and shot, would be appreciated.

Cheers!

We're all Big Blues fans here ... well, apart from the odd Red / fake Blue, and a few welcome visitors ( Spurs and Sunderland come to mind ), so I hope you get something sorted out for a good bumming in July

If you can get Beth Hart, Joe Bonamassa, Joanne Shaw-Taylor and Buddy Guy to turn up, then I might even pop over meself.

This was last years line up, not all blues but Government Mule the year before and Buddy Guy the year before, Alan Toussain, seen some fine bands here in the most beautiful venue . It has been snowed out before, it is at almost 8000ft asl but if you ever bet the chance, it's an amazing venue

That looks pretty special and worthy of further investigation, cheers!

Oh...there’s this

I strongly recommend against something in the south or southeast in July.
Although that one in Eureka Springs, AR would give you a good chance at a bumming
Thanks. Had been looking at that list site but couldn't see anything for July, except one in Alabama and one in Oregon, hence my request. Also with my knowledge of actual boots on the ground USA limited to GTA I'm after your 'don't even think about...' asvice. Think of it as a 'where should I sit in Goodison' post, but on a bit grander scale.

Can't help you with July except to strongly recommend against Alabama. It will be 32C and muggy as hell.
