Blatter and the other clowns at fifa are still pushing for a winter world cup for Qatar in 2022. Blatter says "you can cool down the stadiums but you can't cool down the whole country, this must be a festival for the people (very wealthy people clearly) and you can't that festival in the summer". His views were backed up by Mark Perryman of the London England supporters group who said;"its high time we recognised that football is a world game. Half the world are forsed to play the world cup in the middle of their season so why is there so much upset from European nations when they are expected to do the same. This is a rather Anglo-centric view being taken, there is a long time to go until the tornement so why can't we reorgnise are season to allow a winter world cup". Now I'm not arsed about the England side anyway but I do object to us having to change the way our season works for the world cup, which have been awful over the last few tornements anyway and I don't like the implications of racism from that fool perryman so I'd not move it on principle. Blatter and the rest of the fools at Fifa can do one, this is what happens when you select a country to host a tornement based on the cash they give to you. What's everyone elses thoughts on this? do you agree with Fifa and Blatter? Would you agree to meve the world cup? Or would you boycott the world cup if it was moved?

Carlos, I care mate because if the have the world cup half way through are season, and our players could get injury's and it could fook up are season! Plus mate, its a forum about world football so clearly some people might care.

What Blatter fails to also address is that we wouldn't be talking about just one season of disruption in Europe: if FIFA are now saying that playing a summer World Cup in Qatar would be dangerous, then the same applies to the Confederations Cup the preceding summer.

Utter farce, and Blatter is a thunder**** of the highest order.

And so is that leach Perryman who is quoted in the article.
 
Was also reading on bbc text earlier that FIFA were unsuccessful in getting the world cup taken away from "free-to-air" channels across the world, very pleasing news.

This whole Quatar thing stinks, so obvious FIFA were handed plenty of cash to stage the tournament there, with the promise of air-conditioned stadiums laughed at at the time, and now proving to be the case, there was never any possible way to hold the world cup in Quatar during the summer.
 
I don't really care if it's held in June-July or December-January, but this should have been part of their bid when submitted. Because I doubt very much it would have been approved.

The bait and switch is the most distasteful aspect to this.
