Dont undersatnd why he's left Goodwillie out of his analysisof Blackburn.

As for the point about playing a striker coming deep to create space and this was what we need to appreciate is going on, well that might be acceptable if - as per the example he gives - you have the punishing pace and power of Ronaldo and Rooney benefitting from a Tevez, not when Saha creates space for Cahill or Osman.
 
I don't fancy us in this one; it's going to be a set pieces duel. An alternative would be to let Cahill sit it out, as I don't think trading crosses with Blackburn is a good idea. Instead I'd play Rodwell on the right (adds height in defense, drive in attack + he shoots more than most in our team). Barkley left and Arteta centre, give Osman the free role and park Felli in front of the defense.
