BLACK FRIDAY

Black Friday is getting closer as shoppers prepare to grab the best bargains in the run up to Christmas.

Amazon, Asda and John Lewis are expected to offer a wave of deals, while Sainsbury's will launch discounts for the first time this year.

Apple is expected to offer a range of cash discounts in UK stores and Amazon has promised thousands of ‘lightening deals’ – quantity and time limited offers on their best products for a week from Monday 24 November.

For John Lewis, Black Friday is a crucial test of its “never knowingly undersold” pledge. This promise means that John Lewis will have to match the prices offered by rivals on products within its department store, as well as offering its own deals.

The retailer plans to open its stores at 8am on Black Friday and will be offering around 100 deals, mainly on electrical items.

This year Black Friday will take place on Friday 28 November, but some retailers will start their deals early from Monday 24 November.

Shops across the UK are expected to open their doors from as early as 8am in the run up to Christmas, with many online deals going live at midnight on November 24th.

Cheers for the reminder @rascal

It's also a very useful way of making a nice profit by just a few clicks of a button, ebay and an Amazon Prime membership - just create an Amazon account and you get a free 30 day trial.

I made a tidy £100 last year and that was only on a few blu ray boxsets.

In my experience every black friday deal in the Uk is terrible and not worth your time.

I looked last year and nothing came up worth buying on amazon and asda were just selling their jarg no name tellys off for low low prices.

It is just a way to attact people here to spend money on nothing cause the americans do it

In related news, I kept my old work uniform and name badge in case they have something ridiculous on sale and I can walk in the back door before the shop opens and be waiting to grab the stuff, my old dept head already gave me the wink wink ok.

Uk gonna start doing thanksgiving too? Odd to copy another sale day when the new year sales are the equivalent

New Year sales are jarg though. I use Amazon Black Friday to buy Xmas presents for family, what's the point in New Year sales?

Had a quick look at amazon because it said that they have a pre black friday sale, the 2 things I saw was a Pandora charm which was the same price on the Pandora website and a drill which was actually £7 more expensive than it was on B&Q site. I hope Black Friday is better, the Americans seem to get boss stuff on their Black Friday.
