in memoriam - 1965-2024
There have been a few matches that got me thinking about this. And I dont mean in a hooligan way. But in the actual historical dislike between nations/teams in the tournament.
Like England played Wales today, but it is more of a playground spat. And in the UK, pretty much all of us have a % of the four nations in our genetic makeup. Or know good friends who do.
Poland/Germany on now would probably be high up the list, and I remember some brutal Germany/Holland games from yesteryear.
(sake, didnt mean to mention Germany twice.)
But historically, the Austria/Hungary match caught my eye.
Lob in the separation of the old USSR, and the "creation" of tons of probably ancient rivalries, just made me think.
