apparently he is going to be charged with atempted murder!!

Well that's ridiculous, but I hope he gets found guilty. He deserves it. Anything like that, where you do something that could injure a person forever is just pure evil. Fighting fine. But anything like that and they should lock them up IMO

Does anyone know how the other guy is?

Just read that the other player "Elivelton" wasn't seriously injured, very lucky really considering! and the keeper has a possible life ban...

Police are said to be taking the matter very seriously, and have begun interviewing players from both teams over the incident.
The 18-year-old's now former club Sport Recife released a statement on their website saying Gustavo would be receiving psychological treatment.
Gustavo has since apologised for the brazen kung-fu-style attack saying: 'I'm sorry for what I did, I wanted to speak with him personally so I could apologise to him to try and calm him too.'

Bless him!!

I can see why they're making a case for attempted murder actually as they'll class the studs as intent to attack with a deadly weapon, but in reality this is probably a case of assault & battery.

Either way he won't play football in any meaningful capacity again.

If it were over here, on the other hand, I'm sure he'd Marlon King his way back into a Championship club.
