Had a good day, right result too. Hope you enjoyed it too Nick, was actually a bit jealous when you lot were giving it the large one in the second half but I soon got over it with my cheese and biscuits after the game!

Actually sat next to Alan Stubbs:

(yeah, ok, so I look like a big faced troll)

And only a few seats from Kenwright:

God I was tempted to make some snidey comments but openly admitting to ****ting out!

We really enjoyed it thanks Jimbo! The Brummies were good hosts too.
First half was toilet from us,imo, due in part to Nev being more accountable in a midfield of four and Big Vic doing what we know he can. Our use of space was quite strange too. Dropping Nev out of midfield improved the team massively with Cahill's introduction.
Don't think Billy was more poor than others in ball retention, and receiVed a couple of hospital passes that shouldn't count really whilst we operated with 3 down the left for a spell. He also had a few good moments.
Yak? Well...:)

I'm glad we had Ossie in the middle to create all those chances today. They really dried up when Cahill came on. ;-)

One swallow does not a summer make.

And I've already explained the key differences between the halfs. It's not Cahill or Ossie, it's quite simply the goal we scored and the effect it had on us and them. Not to mention how we just kept bypassing the midfield in the first half anyway.

Dont bother Rufus, its clear some people have already picked their scapegoat for this Season and have gone with Cahill.

Dunno why everybody cant just pick Victor Heskey and then its win win.

He was defending Cahill, mate. I've been the one on the other side of the argument.

I love Cahill, mind, I'd just like to see us play with the best possible formation we can even if it doesn't include him.

We were poor/very poor at times today, however I won't look to much into that at the moment.

Was good to see the couple of banners aimed at Kenwright. Obviously, some will agree and disagree on protesting however he really does need to see the frustrations us fans are going through at the minute.

Barkley looks a top prospect. Calm on the ball, good composure, picks a pass well and isn't afraid to take a shot.

Anichebe and Beckford didn't work. I really don't understand how many chances Vic deserves. I know some thought Beckford should of stayed on instead of Anichebe, however at times throughout the first half, I saw him limping slightly so it looks like he had a knock.

As for the group of blues in rows 4 and 5 behind the goal, I credit you. At times it was poor (the match), but your humour kept it barable.

Anyway, onto Bremen and hopefully by Villareal we'll have the errors sorted.

Seems like Everton tv is showing the full game from today -probably have not edited it yet or their mistake [dont know if any can see it that didnt buy it]

To be honest, I thought the whole team was poor. My players of note though were Howard, proving why Mucha is not gonna get much of a game, Bainsey, showing again his class, Cahill, playing a solid midfield game and Barkley, really lively and a definite first teamer and Saha, showing why we need to wrap this guy up in cotton wool after every game so that we can get more than 20 games from him.

I'm not a pro footballer, and I realise that it was hot, but the lack of running around to create options for the person on the ball was really terrible. I just hope that the next two matches are more about play time than fitness.
