Bin sin bins

Player Valuation: £35m
I see sin bins are back on the agenda. From of all people our friend Collina. Surely the authorities will see this nonsense for what it is and bin it. Collina is talking about using them only for when players abuse refs. But if ever adopted you can bet your life their use would be extended.

The only advantage I can see it that it gives punishment on the spot and so rightly aids the opposition.

But against that, consider the main negatives. Firstly there is the certainty of even more controversy and complaint surrounding refs decisions to use the option. Secondly, the more officious refs will be sin binning players every few minutes and make a farce of the need for football to be 11 v 11. Thirdly, even worse, we could see teams not just having to play with one player short, but maybe two or three! You could be certain that playing the RS refs would quickly use the opportunity to make the game 11 v 8! Finally, and for me this is the biggest flaw in the proposal, what we would see is that the team with reduced numbers would simply time waste and play conservatively so as to kill the game until they were returned to their full complement.
