Do I know that what Moyes can pick from currently is less than a full squad - and so can't rotate, rest, or bring on impact players from his squad as he pleases. It isn't the only reason, but it is a contributory.

We are in transition, I'm glad Felli is signed, we havn't sold anyone that will still be playing in 5 years (besides Vaughan, but he cant manage 5 minutes, let alone 5 games) we have a strong base unit, but have lost our most high profile creative stars (Pienaar & Arteta). Bily is gone (hopefully), Yobo looks gone, Gibson in for pennies, Saha seems to have checked out already, once the retirements happen in the summer Moyes can have a crack at a rebuild of more than a couple of players.

I'm not convinced on Drenthe, I am concerned about how Coleman will fit in long term, is Rodwell going to be moved back to CB, can a left sider be found to hook up with Baines, is Anichebe anything more than an angry sub, can Moyes find a couple of bargains.

We can't demand a change and expect it to turn round in a flash, a bit of house cleaning, then some upgrades.

Just take the average of what the media 'believe' it to be. Which is about Â£4.5m, half of what we paid for him. I expect this to be well spent during the next 6 days. If not, it doesn't bear thinking about..

Its not like the Â£9 mill or the Â£4.5 mill was turning out for us every week - so its not as though we were getting the benefit of it anyway.

Who's to say that the portion of Letdinov's sale funds allocated to Moyes has already been utilized via the Gibson acquisition and that this was a part of a prior arrangement between the board and Moyes?

i.e You can have funds to procure Gibson for x but in order to subsidize the purchase we need to sell another squad member in this window for y. with any difference going to relieve some of the debt
