After reading through Baz Rathbone's book -- very good by the way -- I think I've come to the conclusion Bily will never make it here.
Baz talks about how his confidence was shattered in his Birmingham days, and it wasn't until he went to Blackburn he managed to shine again. Once the fans get on your back it seems a difficult -- almost impossible -- thing to overturn. Especially if you're the quiet, low self-esteem type. And Bily strikes me as someone without self-esteem, and because of that I honestly think he's never going to be able to make it here.
Confidence is so important, and whilst he lacks physical strength, he also lacks the courage to use his undoubted talent. I've seen videos on youtube of him and thought "who the hell is this?"; as he takes on players and -- gasp -- beats his man. Albeit in a weaker league, but I'll reiterate; confidence is key. He's not going to get it back here.
He needs to move to another league, I think. Surely someone will buy him for £5 or £6 million? Recoup our losses, I say.
