Notice that Billy Connelly as some health problems, I find it hard to feel any sympathy for him on account of what he said about Ken Bigley, in CSS anyone has forgotten Evertonian Ken was kidnapped in Iraque and Saddam Hussain informed the world that Ken would be beheaded and Was under a death sentence for several weeks, that was when Connelly came out and said "if they are going to kill him why don't they get on with it"
Eventually Ken Bigley was beheaded, just thought I would remind people, RIP Ken.

It's Iraq and at the time Saddam was a Prisoner and in no way responsible for the murder of Ken.

It was muqtada al sada or Quatada who where responsible. Still I lost a lot of respect for him after that too. Absolutely no humour in it whatsoever.

Was much funnier in his early days. Like the OP, I lost a lot of respect for him after the Bigley comments.

Still wouldn't wish Parkinsons Disease on anyone though.

Well I think he's a terribly good comedian, saw him in my home town a few years ago, performed for well over 2 hours, never laughed so much in my life. Used to frequent the local pubs whilst filming The Last Samurai too, a really nice guy. His documentaries are something else, his one on NZ is particularly good.

Everyone says stupid things once in a while, even more likely to happen when you're a comedian.
