Franks butt plug arrived then.........

Don't envy kids riding the things they do. My nieces have a bike each and they weigh more than my road bikes. Blooming great tanks they are. Can't make it easy for them to learn to ride the things.

Tanks is right, but tbh if you check around that doesn't have to be the case as there are plenty of aluminium framed kids bikes and usually of a far better brand.
My youngest I got a Dawes one and it's dead light meaning easier for him to get used to manoeuvring etc yet some 'first bikes' weigh a ton, and being Dawes it has decent parts as well.
He'll move up to the middle ones 'arl one which is again a Raleigh that is that 'air something' ally frame, exactly the same stuff that they use from that size to full size.
Now he has a BMX and compared to his mates Diamond Backs etc his Aluminium 'Ripper' it's about 1/2 the weight, which if the bike is a bit big on them (like most 9 year olds) makes it far easier to handle, out of control kids on a heavy bmx with those big pegs on is broken ankles / scratched cars waiting to happen. Also S.E. Racing make good bikes that last, I don't want to have to be replacing these kind of things apart from when outgrown.

Like I say, they weren't really any more expensive either.
