Warehouse parties are massive in the queer scene these days. Especially in the US and Canada.

Went to a few freeparties in the '00 but a bit too Psytrance-y for me after about 15 mins lol
You'd have literally (and I mean literally) got bottles and cans thrown at you and kicked off the decks for playing psytrance at the parties I used to play at lol

I went to one probably every other week between say 97-2001 ish, lots of amazing memories but also some horrible ones including seeing someone get stabbed, numerous people overdosing and also parties being invaded by yardies with shotguns.

As you say it all got a bit grim around 2000 and parties reached a point where they were just as likely to be sketchy as good.

Since about 2001 i've only been to about 4 or 5 with the last one being about a year ago, it had good vibes but im too old for raving and drug taking nowadays.

I know people who never stopped going and they all say it's mostly fine nowadays and has been for many years.
Good to hear the scene is thriving. Nothing like it when it's good.

Never touched it in my life but growing up through late eighties and through the nineties all my mates were doing it.... the clubs were packed and there wasn’t half the aggro that goes on now.

innit lad, all this these days literally out for fights and if theyre not then they start it at the drop of a hat anyway, all about just going out throwing shapes and getting ya face melted, before dancing along the street to nothing but the sounds of early morning traffic on the walk home!!

Went straight into 2 pretty demanding jobs one really good and one really bad from the age of about 18/19 up until now and never really enjoyed the years in between as much as some would have.

It has taught me that work isn’t everything and that you have to find a balance between pay and enjoyment. Plus at least I’ve never worked in an office.
