Biggest Letdown!

As the title suggests, who over the years has been the signing(s) you thought were going to be great but have flattered to deceive?

I remember as a kid being excited when we signed Mike Newell and reading an article on him in my Shoot magazine thinking we had a new hero coming in.

Must be loads that haven't quite lived up to expectations or just simply bombed - Per Koldrup being an example of the latter!

Amokachi. I remember him getting introduced at Goodison. Sure we signed him after a World Cup where he scored a load. He was sh1te and his ball control was similar to my 3 year olds.

I had a canary called Amokachi with a picture of him on the cage. Bit weird that looking back on it.

Didn't quote you in my reply mate - I thought he was going to be a beast having seen his goals in the 94 WC (that's why the Canary got the name!)

Spurs in the cup semi gives Amokachi plenty of credit in my bank even if in the main he was [Poor language removed]!

Heard somewhere this week Drenthe has gone and signed for a pretty obscure Turkish team.
