Biggest Everton disappointments in my lifetime

Milk Cup final 1984, FA Cup Final 1985, Oxford away 1986 (Lineker's forgotten boots), FA Cup Final 1986, Lineker leaving, not (virtually) clinching the league at Anfield in 1987,Kendall leaving, Beardsley leaving, Villareal, Liverpool Wembley Cup semi, Wigan FA Cup, last night.

Am shouting the above in the back garden like some kind of primal scream therapy. Cathartic.

Apart from all that - and the OP isn't old enough to remember (or be alive) to remember Clive Thomas, bribed refs (Panathinaikos, AC Milan etc) - Collina etc.. the plain fact of the matter is that there's only so much luck to spread around - and around these parts 95% of it is owned by the RS. We're either poor, indifferent or bloody unlucky.

Just had a thread shutdown. don't know how I'll cope lol...

In all seriousness I can never suffer the humiliation I suffered in '86 when Lineker put us ahead and then we suffered the curse of Rush...I was a young boy in a bar full of gobshites

There has been a few. But Liverpool at Wembley and Distin s mess up might be top as we just caved in to the occasion. My neighbour a orrible red offered me a spectacular 3 to 1 bet that they would beat us , maybe 5 mins into the second half. I refused it as I knew by the players demeanour we were gonna get beat. The intensity of our play straight after half time was our downfall when we were for once prob the stronger team on paper and in life

I'm not suprise that that was shut down lad.!!!!! If you back a donkey you can't expect to win the grand national. Rush was a nightmare though.

0-5 RS my worst ever. never be happy till we win 5-0 at Analfield as for MANY other defeats/disappointments I can get over them but in the unlikely event of relegation would be suicidal COYB

That really was the worse,I'm use to losing at this stage, so all the results since, i live with and accept, but that was the one where I really felt we'd take them.Horrible horrible feeling, guess it prepared me for all that followed through the years though.

Old geezer so seen too many to mention. However holding iPad to TV screen to FaceTime son who was watching at 3am in China was gutting. I really feel for the younger generation. Still believe our day will come but Thursday felt and feels like 1 step forward but 3 backwards this season. Good players out of form, poor players in crucial positions in team, lack of fight to win ball back. Sigh.
