That mob cops one about the two cops who were hitmen for the mafia? Watched a documentary on them two the other month. It was pretty unreal at how they got away with it for that long. If your into your mafia movies try and watch Witness to the mob about Sammy gravano. goes pretty much into his whole life and how he became part of the mob, his rise and his personal life. good film and think DeNiro directed it.

Yeah that's them, worked for the Lucchese. There was a filmed planned on them, haven't heard much about it recently so don't know if its been shelved.

Yeah I've seen that Witness to the Mob, Tom Sizemore plays Gotti I think.

One of my favourite movies is Gotti with Armand Assante, released as a TV movie and its up there with the best, a fantastic watch thats taken from the Rise and Fall book.

Though of another book, probably the most famous Mafia book of all time; The Valachi Papers

Sammy claims to have planned the Castellano hit but that he was never a shooter... he claims to have been parked up with Gotti a block away and drove past as Castellano lay on the pavement.

My understanding was that he made that claim in order to get on the FBI identity change list, most of the underworld said he carried out. It should be remembered that Gravano wanted his own family. He was that clever he was found to be dealing even on the protection prog. My belief is Gravano pulled the trigger that killed Castellano

Another one that goes under the rader is called "This thing of Ours" It's got afew big names in it and it is a good watch. Anyone see that film about Kuklinski that was released the other month? Meant to be decent.

It would seem from some threads lately that quite a few read books about some of the worlds nasties so lets have a thread

From Capone, Nitty, Giacana, Spillotro to Riina or even the Krays who do you believe was the leading gangster ever. You could go back in history to the Tudors who bled the country dry, you may even think businessmen or politicians qualify.

IMO the worst gangster ever was Toto Riina, boss of the Sicilian mafia, killed so many and had them killed for the slightest reason. He controlled drugs and prostitution throughout the world corrupted a string of officials and murdered those that would not cooperate. Even honest judges were not safe, one leading prosecutor was blown to bits by a bomb planted under the Messina/Palermo motorway and purportedly detonated by Riina from a high vantage point two miles away. When some of his associates went for trial in Palermo they had to build a built proof court to hold the trial.

Even in prison he was still controlling his entire empire and had everything he needed in prison, and I mean everything

You seem a tad bitter, whats up, he didn't make you an offer you couldn't refuse?
