Huyton Layne

Player Valuation: £70m
Is there any reason to stop?
Likely heading home to England this spring and not sure whether to just head straight to Liverpool to see the family after a couple of days in Lardarn or stop at such beauty spots as Stoke or Birmingham.
Seriously though anything worth seeing for a family of 4 with 2 five year old boys?

Not really no.

I mean Wales is lovely, but that would require very much taking the long way.

But most places between here and London are cesspits.

Chester is nice.
Might hit north Wales if we have time. I love seeing the castles and I'm sure the kids would love Caernarfon. I've never fully explored Chester as it pee'd down both times I've been there. Nice architecture though.

Assuming you're doing M1 and M6, Jodrell Bank is worth a stop. Hop off the M6 at Holmes Chapel and it's about 15minutes drive. Warwick castle is pretty ace but it's a bit more of a detour. Other than that you can swerve the 'kin lot in my opinion.

The Peak District is beautiful but does take you out of your way. As @MarcelsGoat said, Snowdonia is stunning, Betws-y-Coed, all round there, and Chester is definitely worth seeing.

Jodrell Bank is best viewed from afar, hellishly expensive to get in for what is essentially a 10 minute walk around a pretty bleak thing to look at up close.

The Lakes is always worth a visit.

Stop over at Blackpool for the night on the way - children don’t notice what a toilet it is.
