I thought Americans where not allowed to bet on UK sites?

I thought you where only allowed to bet at casinos (race courses in the usa are all accompanied with huge casinos on the side).

I also thought you could be prosecuted as an american if you use an exchange like betdaq or betfair?

This is correct, which is why I have to bet Bitcoin. It's not recognized as actual money, so I don't believe it's illegal.
