Wife is a vet nurse,greyhound owner was a client of theirs and said he thought his dog would have a good run in the irish derby competition,so we got drunk one night and decided to put 100 on it at 33/1 to win,as it got through the rounds and into the quarter finals I decided to throw money on it each way just in case it got to the final .dog was called Shelbourne Aston,family and friends had taken the tip so they had a fair few notes on it also,anyway it got to the final and was 7/2 as I remember on the night, winning by a nose,it was fourth going into the last bend..we won just short of 4 k.Went to New York and blew every last cent

biggest loss,only ever 5 euros most weeks on the football ,and isn't always the ones that are your banker homes that let you down !!.

i remember the dog well mate , use to finish like a train ,the dog got drug tested not long after and was banned, he was drugging it all the while

Did you do it in shop?

For anyone who doesnt know, if you lose the slip, go into the bookies you put it on at and tell them you've lost your slip and all the details of the bet. They will be able to find it on the computer and see if its been paid out or not. If it hasn't, you will be asked to write the bet out again, give your name and address and in 99 out of 100 cases you will get paid out.

On topic. Won about £400. Lost £20 (few times)
