The iPad mini is less expensive and it's awesome. Will never go back to a full size tablet.

I'd say Kindle HD for a reasonably cheap but decent option, I've used my mums a fair bit recently and was quite impressed.

8GB is not much over £100 and 16GB is about £130 I think.

I've had the iPad 3 for 15 months and still think its awesome.

I don't think you can go far wrong with either iPad or a good Android tablet, it just depends on personal preference which one you get.

This weekend in the US an 8GB Nook HD is running for $79. Its a good to very good tablet, especially for that price.
