Narcissistic band leaders who never had a proper band name don't count, so no Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young or David Bowie. If "other" maybe there'll be some more non-UK/US bands there, the list is very anglo-dominated.

I think he is being broad with his definition... Fine by me tbh. I'd consider them of the rock variety

Radiohead have very rocky guitar-heavy numbers, even in their late period. Bodysnatchers is a good late-era example. They have an impressive discography and a great rep live.

EPIC band. In the top 5 for me. Check out their Rosenrot album which has less of the theatrics (which are great live but slightly less so on record) and more of the dark-heavy riffs.

Some odd choices for "Rock" band there mate. The Beatles and The Eagles were both ace bands, but they were never rock bands.

Queen are my favourite "everyday" band

Floyd have, by far, produced the best, and most thought provoking music in my life but ...

Led Zep are undoubtedly the best "Rock Band" I've experienced, certainly live anyway, and, for me, rock music is more about the live stuff than what's done in the studio, so they got my vote.
