Been so long since I've visited your great city. I always liked Ship and Mitre, The Belvedere Hotel, The Caledonia, The Grapes, Baltic Fleet, Fly in the Loaf. I will fully admit I'm a Liverpool-phile.

Throw in the Roscoe Head and the Dispensary and you’ve got a cracking pub crawl there - even though the licensee of the Dispensary is nuts !

I quite like the Globe too. For where it is, you can get a decent pint, good service and a relatively nice crowd in there even during the evenings.

I got served a pint of vinegar last time I was in there and the manager tried to tell me it was “ supposed to be like that “ lol

Needless to say, I left and haven’t been back.

That’s pretty much how the incident went down with myself. “It’s meant to taste tart.” as the highly experienced students passed it around themselves.

Mine was about 3 yrs ago.

I wouldn’t have minded so much if it was one of the teenagers behind the bar, but the manager, no trying to pass off a pint of stale beer, was a big no no.
