Chesters on Lime Street or Smithdown Road. Also good is the Hardman Pizza Co. on... well Hardman Street.

Stay away from Nabzys and Chicken Bazooka.

Agree with both of those. Pizza Italia was fantastic in its original location in Gateacre, and they've kept it up since moving a few years back.

High on Spice does a decent single curry meal too, if you're not in the mood for going for a full blown Indian.

Nevertheless, the BEST kebab house in Liverpool is without a doubt Friends on Smithdown Road (not a pizzeria unfortunately).

Great sized portions; very good quality for takeaway food; the service is superb. It is constantly busy which is a very good sign too!

If you haven't tried one of their special kebbabs, wrapped in a special naan, you've not lived.

For Pizzas also try the 'Pizzaeria Parlour' on Smithdown Road near to the Mystery Park. The original pizza parlour in South Liverpool and still good.

This man has it wrapped up no more need for any more suggestions

Is that near the City Centre? I'm addicted to kebab and desperate for a good address when in Liverpool.
Not far, but I wouldn't say it is particularly near. I would say it is roughly just shy of two and a half miles from Friends to Liverpool Lime Street.

It is about a five to ten minute drive, or around twenty minutes on the 86 bus. Definitely worth it though!

Getting Zains in later, purely because I'm a student with deadlines this coming week, meaning I can't be arsed cooking and I have no money, so it's good that I can get a 12" pizza, fries and a drink for £4.

It's not bad pizza, Zains, I'll give it that.

I've just gained 3kg just reading that. Great, thanks middle age.

One of the best kebab places I encountered while I was there was Real Taste on London Road, just east of LJMU. Maybe 5-8 minute walk from city centre. It looks like a very no frills place, but has some of the best Naan (pita) and lamb kebabs around. It is run by Turkish folks and I was often the only non-Turk in the place. If you order a plate (as opposed to a wrap), you get your choice of lentil, aubergine, courgette, or other soups. I love this place!!

I tried American Pizza Slice and found it so-so. The pizzas sit under a heat lamp and dry out, so I didn't find the reheated pizza slice too tastey (and yes, I realize this is how they do it in NYC, but often most places will re-top the slice w/cheese before reheating it). I found Tribecca to be better, but those were the only two pizza places I visited.
