Seriously cant remember such an excellent performance! It started with Osman tackling with his face (and if thats not dunc's influence i dont know what is!), had Coleman looking like Zidane, and ended with Baines getting in Twateta's face!

Even though we are on a good run, it seemed like we were riding our luck in a lot of games. (for example newcastle, who are like the girl in the cumshot pornos were everyone is literally queuing up to faceshot her at the moment :)), But jeesus, that today was just [Poor language removed] perfect! We have had swashbuckling performances in the past decade, but never with the sheer class of football we had today. We literally took the piss out of them, with Ole's, Easy's and Micky Twarteta getting some.

Even hours later I am literally still erect, the missus is in for a pounding tonight! I was a Martinez doubter pre-season, but today sealed the deal!

The last time we played that well was probably Arsenal away at the start of the season, and before that I can think of a couple of Rooney era games (again Arsenal is one).... but can anyone pick a performance in the last 20 years that matched todays?

I was saying the same. Almost any good 'performance' in the past for me basically is being confused with the result and effort put in to attain it. Today we totally dominated from both an attacking and a defensive point of view - and we're better than the league away game because a) we had a little bit of attacking threat, which I felt we didn't there and b) we didn't feel the need to break up their play with fouls and rough tactics.

This was a proper footballing lesson and in my 21 years watching football I can't remember a better all round, assured performance in an important game against a team of that stature (not that they showed it today).

There's been the odd demolition of relegation fodder, possibly when we were also such as I don't remember much of it when we were actually good in 05-09, I remember Walter smith actually giving us some high scoring wins, but nothing as comprehensive performance wise and....unexpected as today.

This now needs to become normal for everton and I believe it will be

We've played very well in games over those 20 years.

But yeah, I'm hard pressed to think of a performance that good vs a team that good.

Maybe once I've calmed down a bit, I'll change my mind. But for now I'll say yes.

Definitely the best performance I've seen in that time. A different style of play certainly helps make it look more impressive.

I think it was. Can think of a few similar results, but to put it into perspective this is a team of some loaners and first seasoners

Only one I can think off is the Spurs semi final at Leeds in '95.
