Best option for a Goodison pilgrimage?

Hi folks,

I'm an Australian-based Evertonian. I turn 40 this September and for my 40th, I want to fly from Perth (Australia) to Liverpool to see Everton at Goodison.

The only game for which I can make dates work is 12 September - home versus Chelsea. I'm a bit concerned that a high profile game like that will sell out before I get within sniffing distance of a ticket. Not terribly keen on spending all that money to get there, only to find I can't get two tickets (wife too) for love or money.

Am hoping you could help me out with some advice:
1. How likely that the Chelsea game sells out without going to general admission sales?
2. Best option to guarantee myself two seats at a reasonable(-ish) price? -- i.e. Can afford to splash out a bit for the special occasion, but don't have hundreds and hundreds of pounds just laying around.

Advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Best bet is to ring the club up, they usually like stories about people travelling thousands of miles to watch the club and might be able to set something up for you and your other half.

Have tv fixtures been announced yet? I'd be very wary about planning to travel 1000's of miles to attend a game on a certain date, when Sky/BT could change the date of that game. There won't be a huge shift in the dates, but something you should consider.

FOREVERTON membership will get you sorted mate.

They will go to general sale but you won't get the best seats that way.

Legends. Thanks everyone. I've dropped an email to the club and will also sign up when the FOREVERTON memberships go on sale again. Fingers crossed.

Between now and then, I'll be taking my boy to see the lads play in Singapore in July. I know it's lame to be excited about preseason but excited I am.

Thanks again!

Absolutely nothing lame about that mate. Enjoy yourself!

Took my lad to his first game at a pre-season in Woking....slightly more lame than Singapore...but got him hooked all the same

Apparently it's a lot cheaper to buy the plane tickets from the UK if you have a way of doing that. Got mates that work in Perth and they always get their family over here to buy them as it saves them a tidy ammount

It might be worth mentioning that to the club as well mate. You never know.....;)

edit. The Singapore with your lad bit that is!

you're suggesting he should fly over to the UK in order to buy cheap airplane tickets for a return flight to Oz then fly back to OZ in order to catch the flight to the UK that he has just flown to the UK to buy the tickets for ??? FFS, that's insane !!!

besides which, he's only in Perth

you can get a national express from there

If securing tickets is important could you get Foreverton membership to get them before general sale? Probably best bet of getting decent seats and also 2 next to each other

Definitely this, unless you can contact the club and get a better deal. The only problem with Foreverton memberships is you need an account for each seat/ticket holder.

No. Listen up. What you do is send your family from Perth to buy the tickets from the UK, then send them back on the bus.
