Best International Football Tournament Ever?

Euro 96. Some of the football wasn't the greatest, but I think the highlights reel of goals would be the best from a tournament, Suker, Paborski, Shearer spring to mind straight away.

Plus the atmosphere, the 3 lions, trafalgar square, jerseys for goal posts, called in by your mum to have your tea....

Another good one for me.
Defo my favourite.

More so because it was the first World Cup where i understood the teams, the game and the significance of each game. I was at an age where i could talk to my mates about it and went out and to try and relive some of those great moments as a kid in the park.

Roger Miller shocking Argentina, David Platts volley against Belgium and seeing the next big world star for the first time in Roberto Baggio and that slalom of a run. Had no idea at the time of his yellow card but remember fuming when realizing that Gazza would miss the final if we beat Germany. Crying after England getting knocked out on pens......... then fuming again after realizing we really would of tore Argentina a new one should we of got to that final. I also remember an upgrade on anything id seen previous at this tournament with the TV graphics, when the line ups were introduced and after each goal, booking etc... So smooth and looked easy on the eye.

Great memories. There are many more but i loved that tournament.
