Been watching the Hootenanny and thinking...What are your best gigs ever.

For me it's;

The Smiths at the Barrowland - 1986.

The Buzzcocks supported by The Joy Division at the Apollo - 1979

Marvin Gaye supported by Edwin Starr at the Usher Hall - 1980

The Foo Fighters at Meadowbank Stadium - 2008

Every time I've seen Morrissey. (y)

Yours?

The Smiths - Newcastle Mayfair - March/April 1984

Brian Wilson performs SMiLE (world debut) - Royal Festival Hall - Feb 2004

Desmond Dekker - 100 Club - about 8 years ago

Gary Moore and Phil Lynot in Mayfair, U2 at Tiffanys ( still got my £2.50 ticket) AC/DC Back in black tour Apollo, Pogues at Barrowland, Saw Doctors Barrowland and Edwin Collins a few weeks ago in Paisley.

Iron Maiden Monsters of rock 92
Metallica wembley arena 92 Wherever we may roam tour
Pink Floyd Earls Court in 94
Metallica Monsters of rock 95
Little Angels, faith no more, Motorhead all at Cambridge Corn Exchange
Bon Jovi several times at Wembley MK Bowl Ibrox

The list just goes on and on

Worst 1 got to be G' n R at MK Bowl when all Axel did was sit on the edge of a sofa for most of the set

Bath Festival 1970
Isle of Wight 1970
The National Belfast a few weeks ago
And believe it or not The Brit Floyd again in Belfast a few weeks ago, I doubt if the Floyd themselves could have performed any better!

Some impressive gigs mentioned here like.

I'd have to say Arctic Monkeys last year was the best gig I've ever been to. There the band I grew up with, the soundtrack to my first shag, fight and heartbreak and last year they were really ate the top of their game.

A bit different to what has already been mentioned but Blink 182 at the Echo Arena was amazing and Bowling for Soup in the 02 last October.

Bruce / Black Crowes / Alabama Shakes at the Olymic Park last summer was pretty aces, as was Bruce at Hard Rock Calling a few years earlier when he opened with London Calling and performed both Racing in the Street and Jungleland.
