Southall was the best in the world for a time, would of walked into any football team imo
i agree there neville.Used to love watching Kanchelskis.
Baines on current form is unbelievable for me, could walk in any team!
Baines out of the current crop, wouldn't look out of place in any team in my opinion.
In my time Kanchelskis during the 95/96 season was probably the best i'v witnessed.
Now: Baines.
1980s: Southall....we had truly great players but Nev was probably the best keeper in the world at the time. No nonsense...he was the best in the world.
1960s: Ball was great, Harvey was a great playmaker but the best footballer we had in the Catterick era was The Golden Vision. Alex Young was a superbly balanced elegant footballer.
All time: Dixie Deans may well be the greatest Number 9 anywhere anytime....yes that good. WR Dean may well be the greatest ever centre forward in football history.
20's - Dean
30's - Lawton
40's - WW2
50's - Kendall
60's - Ball
70's - Latchford
80's - Southall
90's - Kanchelskis
00's - Arteta
Played in the 50's didn't he?Howard?
Played in the 50's didn't he?
My mistake, going for Hickson then.Joined us in 1967.
