Best England performance you've ever seen

Weirdly, Italy 0 0 England in a WC qualifier in Rome. Nearly won it at the death as well.

Cant remember the year, but it was the game that produced the iconic Terry Butcher photo with his bandaged and bloodied head.

Guess its cos they got a very difficult job done.

Yeah that 0-0 with Italy was a great performance

England played some lovely football and should have won as you said

Rooney v Croatia at Euro 2004. Outrageous performance for an 18 year old.

Was at that game.. The England v France was memorable even for the wrong reasons... 1 nil up after 90 mins... 2-1 down after 93 mins! Zidane free kick and a Gerrard slip up!

Was at the Croatia game too. Great game and as you say, Rooney was outstanding.
