The Jam always did great soul covers, the Stranglers did a brilliant cover of Walk on by, but would pick Song to the Siren by This Mortal Coil (Liz Fraser & Robin Guthrie basically) just because every single time you listen to it, the level of emotion stays the same despite a 'reinvention'...
Love that song. Robin was brought up about 800 yards from me and Liz lived about a mile away.

The Smiths - Work Is a Four Lettered Word.

This. Made it their own.

Liz covered it again a couple of years ago. I was at the 'warm up' gig in Bath, blew me away again.

Had tickets for the London gig and had to miss it, absolutely gutted.
Met her and Robin once in Hardman House at a Roddy Frame acoustic gig, she was so demure, mouselike, and you wonder where on earth she gets that voice from, but, as many have commented, her voice is what gods sounds like
Part wants a reunion, part doesn't, doubt it would ever happen though, she is excellent on this....

I don't know if its the way they have made her sound or whether she is that nasally normally when she sings, but its makes it very difficult to listen too imo. And as for the haircuts, my eyes have never been so offended!

Alien Ant Farm: Smooth Criminal

Pearl Jam: It's OK, Crazy Mary, Save it for Later

Dinosaur Jr.: Just like heaven

LOL at your comment mate.
