Actually the Swan is a great shout. Also look for the Fly in the Loaf, the Belvedere, The Dispensary, Rigby's, The Roscoe Head, Ye Cracke, The Phil, The Globe, The Baltic Fleet... There's loads, really.

Is the dispensary where they serve Red Erik beer? My mate used to love that stuff and drag me there night after night despite my liver's protestations.
Haven't been for years but I walked past the other day and they had a big banner up about winning some big award. Best banner possibly. Anyway if you like real ale and stuff you might want to check it out.

Heading over to Liverpool tomorrow for the weekend. Any time I'm over I usually end up in concert square and have strangely never had beer in Matthew street!! Was considering heading there on Friday night? Is it good on a Friday night? What sort of a crowd would be there?
