Maybe I missed it, but Stone Temple Pilots Core and Purple were excellent rock records. Not my favorite but I would have them over many on the list.

Copper Blue from Sugar was one of those records that I felt should have been freakin huge...never quite was and I like it that way.
I thought about STP but skipped them on purpose. Since you’re the first to bring it up, I feel somewhat vindicated.
STP were good, but best? Nah.....

Think their first three were another level - phenomenal run, so lullabies would be a great album for anyone else but was quite a noticeable drop. No arguing with Like Clockwork, though.

Is Villains any good? Marc Ronson producing a QotSA album sounds like a recipe for a cauldron of [Poor language removed], so I didn't really give it a chance.

I've not listened to Villains at all. I only heard the single a few times (The Way You Used To Do) and it sounded a bit closer to an uptempo Eagles of Death Metal record. I never really got into Like Clockwork either. Not sure why, just never got round to it.

The unplugged album is worth it just for the Leadbelly cover at the end tbh.

Mark Lanegan is one of those musicians who seem to have the Midas touch. Struggling to think of a project he's been involved in I haven't liked.

There's a QOTSA festival appearance of "Song For The Dead" on Youtube. Oliveri and Grohl with Lanegan doing lead vocals. It's brilliant.
