The constant introduction of below par English players with tenuous Scottish links, rather than picking young Scottish players. Something that was unfortunately followed on by a couple of managers afterwards.

What's going on with Scotland these days? Any good youngsters coming through? Isn't the ex Saints manager, Dutch guy, SFA director or something? Has he had an impact?

Instead of having 11 decent players and sub standard replacements we have a pool of around 30 that could more than do a job.

For example upfront we have McCormack, Fletcher, Martin, Rhodes, Russel and Naismith. All of which I consider Premiership quality.

No idea who that guy is. Seems like the Scots are starting to develop good players again?

Good move for Gauld. The likes of Sporting, Benfica and Porto have a superb record developing players into the finished article.

GMS is a very promising player for Dundee United

There are quite a few promising Scottish players knocking about actually. Strachan is doing a decent job with them as well
