At a crossroads: McCarthy

Everton are considering a move for Blackburn Rovers misfit Benni McCarthy.

The Goodison club are on a strict budget and have only allocated room for loan deals but chairman Bill Kenwright is exploring the possibilities of a deal for the South Africa international - even though Blackburn want around £2.5million.
Manager David Moyes has concerns up front with Louis Saha struggling with hamstring and calf injuries, Yakubu away with Nigeria and errant Brazilian Jo ostracised.
James Vaughan is also short of match fitness so Kenwright knows he may need to adapt the budget to help out.

Blackburn are busy trying to raise funds themselves without losing too many players.

Olympiakos, who have also shown interest in Liverpool's Yossi Benayoun and Albert Riera, have made an inquiry for Morten Gamst Pedersen but the Norwegian is not overly keen.

He has not been offered a new deal and can leave for nothing in the summer but Blackburn want around £2m now.

Blackburn are planning to sign Algerian midfielder Amine Linganzi from St Etienne for a £50,000 fee.
Well... atleast he's healthy

There is no way BK would be identifying players. So that is the first thing I am skeptical about.

Then there is the obvious he is well past it to contend with.
