Bellew v Stevenson WBC Light Heavyweight title 30.11.13

Bellew needs to draw Stevenson in, lean away and cover up for the first three rounds, then explode later on. If he does that, then Bellew can win it inside 10. If he's an idiot and tries to be a hardman straight away, Stevenson stops him inside 3.

If the Bellew that turned up in his last three fights shows up again, he can't win full stop IMO.

Agree 100%. He's looked below par his last few.

Needs to use his height and reach well, keep away from that big overhand left, throw a lot of jabs and try and finish it inside the distance.

Easier said than done

I'd rope-a-dope him myself... He's very rarely gone the distance and he swings wild; not exactly educated power shots and mostly he relies on catching an exposed chin on the counter.

I think Stevenson could deffo punch himself out and Bellew isn't exactly soft, so you never know what can happen if Bellew can drag him into deep waters intelligently.

I think it'd be far too dangerous to allow a puncher like this fella to have it his own way and come on strong.

Bellew should try and hit, tie him up, frustrate him, repeat.

Fair points. John Conteh has made some good points about Bellew's chances tonight lately - thinks height and reach will be a factor.

Bellew is underrated in that he's an intelligent boxer who thinks through fight plans and generally pulls them off. Or used to anyway; the Chillemba fights were atrocious.
