Obviously Lukaku is the best striker available, but he looked exhausted out there today. Jelavic looked active today and doesn't have to play every game but a game here or there would help out the big man.

New forward in January please. I'm not in the mood for entertaining the thought of Jelavic again, that West Ham game is still fresh in my memory.

funny how he wont rest lukaku as he doesn't have faith in jelavic yet he is more than happy to replace barkley with Osman who is no better.

There's definitely inconsistency in starting Lukaku every match and sitting Barkley so much. Having said that, it merely highlights the utter waste that Jelavic has been for a good, long while and that we need to bring another striker in.

what scares me though is why cant Martinez see how poor Osman is starting and playing a full 90 mins, his best play has been off the bench in the 2nd half whenveer he starts in the middle we look off the boil and lacklustre.

I wouldn't be surprised if RM is worried about the media rave over barkley and is trying to keep Ross's feet on the floor by dropping him whenever he has the opportunity (or excuse like so many games in a week) to do so. Sounds stupid but if lukaku is looking knackered but Ross doesn't why isn't he swapping it around?

hahaha what a load of crap, do you know how much 90min football he has played in the last few years, he doesn't need a rest what a load of tosh.

I'd say Osman can offer the team more than Jelavic. Martinez must share my belief that starting Jelavic immediately puts us on the back foot, granted Lukaku has been poor lately though and something needs to give.

only off the bench mate, near enough every game he has started in the middle this season we look poor- Palace and Spurs just to name a few

Lukaku needs a rest. I can see him as an impact sub for the last 20 minutes in the next couple of games.
I'd like to see Vellios given a chance.
