Who are you rooting for?

Belgium:

Pros

Kevin Mirallas
Rom Lukaku
Bright up and coming nation
Promising football

Cons

Wear red
Marouane Fellaini

USA

Pros

Tim Howard
The underdogs
Play without fear
Play to win

Cons

Not picking Landon

Hate to see either team being knocked out here and of all teams left it would be disappointing to see USA go out but I want to see Belgium win and I think it would make for a better quarter final if Argentina also win.

Hard decision to make but I'm going with Belgium. Much love and respect to the US and our Tim

I'd like to add a poll, forgot to do it. Can someone add one?

Another big plus for us scruffy colonials... better coverage than you have. I get to watch Roberto Martinez daily.

On that note, how many Evertonians here are Belgians? How many Americans? How many more future Evertonians are in the works, slowly being converted with each Howard save or sage wisdom from Martinez?

(As for that "soccer" bit, well, as the old drug psa goes, "WE LEARNED IT BY WATCHING YOU!". Hell, earlier this year one of Chico's previews included an image of an 80's Brit newspaper that blatantly referred to "the return of SOCCER.")

Pre-WC I was 100% gunning for Belgium, a side chock-full of excellent individuals and a real chance of a new name on the trophy. But what we have seen is a bunch of individuals playing drab, dull football with very little sense of 'team'. A real let-down.

On the other hand we have the US, who like many of the less-established nations have worked their socks off to get to where they are now. They deserve the QF place more than Belgium on recent performances.
