Being a "fanboy"

Totally agree. I like NFL and watch it regularly but I have literally no emotion towards any team and I have no idea where to start...a team in Blue? Lol

Buffalo Bills are always here to welcome you.

This thread describes the exact reason I became an Everton fan. I've always followed the PL, but never had a team. I just didn't find a team that drew me in as an American. I'm not a Donovan fan at all, and I'm not liking a team because of a keeper. I was raised a Bayern fan as all my family is from that area... And I still pull for them, but bundesliga games just don't compare. Bayern wins almost every year.

It's a bit odd, but I think you need heartbreak and failure to really appreciate success. The supporters, the city, the history, all drew me to Everton. I don't want to be that guy, but just being another Manchester, or Chelsea fan isn't appealing. It's odd but I just felt no connection. But Everton, I can say, i love the club. It just matches my experience as a buffalo bills fan which was my first love, and seeing that kind of fandom first hand.

It'll be truly special to see this team return to the place we all want and know it belongs, with a premiership trophy.

I don't know if that makes sense to any of you, it's just different than being another front runner. I mean being a Chelsea fan? I see them here in the states and I wonder if they watched the sport before Drogva and Abramovich.

Rare is the day I see an Everton supporter here, but it's always enjoyable and top class in terms of knowledge. I've got a guy who I deal with due to work from Liverpool who always brings in friends visiting to meet me, all of them tell me to call them if I make it over, they say they have tickets for me.

It's really something different than what I see with all the Chelsea, Manchester clubs, Barca, RM, Juventus, and Bayern.
