Beckford

I agree, shame. Thought he had more to offer us really. £4m is not bad though considering we got him on a free barely 2 seasons ago.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Beckford a lot, but he just wasn't fitting in. Not particularly his fault, but it just wasn't going to change from what I could see. A fee of 4m approx was it in the end? Good business and good luck to him

We are threadbare up front though now, which worries me more

It was all about the money :(

I like him a lot, good pace up front and even when he misses he has the knack of getting into goal scoring positions. Ah well life goes on.

In a way I'm more furious about this than Arteta.

Becks did not want to leave. We did not need £4 million more than we needed him.

He was our only mobile striker and was our joint top scorer with a fraction of the game time, whilst being played in a new, unsuitable position, in a new team in a new league.

Moyes refuses to play to Beck's strengths and seeing as he can't play 4-5-1 he got rid.

Don't worry though, we've got a target man. On loan. Without Mikel Arteta. We'll be the new Stoke.

this is the one ,i cant understand he isnt great but knows were the net is, and you could bet your house he would score more than vic over a season, were now having to gamble on saha staying fit, vic and two untried lads up front, with timmy as backup, not that good of a threat.

We've managed to worsen our already crap strike force.

It beggars belief.

we paid nothing for him got a decent season out of a player who is miles away from being prem quality and we will make 3 - 4 million all told plus his wages to help pay debts

I think he was a good prospect but the game against QPR summed him up right bad first touch and running all over the shop with no cause.

He was being played as a lone striker. Again. He is not a lone striker.

And if he's not prem quality and was our joint top scorer, what does that say?
