Player Valuation: £70m
James Beattie today penned a 4 year deal with Sheffield United. I for one will be sorry to see him go especially as we are so low on numbers.

I wish the lad well and hope it makes it in the Championship, my thoughst are this could be a great move for him and I am sure he will get goals renew his confidence and see a resurgence in his fortunes. Good luck Beats.

i bet and hope he gos on and scores shed loads good luck lad just a shme it never happand for us.

How come's I penned this post 3 mins before this one yet mine goes un-replied? is it because I have had a recent attempt to ignite serious conversation, perhaps I was wrong.

sorry mate i didnt see youres becouse i was busy so refreshed and this was first so there you go.

Back to Beattie. Yeah thanks for [Poor language removed] nothing. I'll support you while your here, but once your gone and your record was gash, good [Poor language removed] riddens, now lets find the next heap of [Poor language removed] to bring in.

Mods maybe merge the two threads? Sorry Ghost I was writing it the same time as you- obviously both watching sky sports news.

As a person I like Beattie- he did look as if he gave his all, he spoke VERY highly of the club. However it didnt happen for him here, I hope he does well at Sheffield.

Thanks for nothing

11 goals in the 2005/2006 season.

Well he obviously didn't perform on the training pitch and then when it came to Saturday he looked a shadow of his former self. He's just another ineffective player that we have sold, so although it is one body down its money in the bank and now perhaps we can look to strengthen.

4 million is a [Poor language removed] good deal for Moyes, even though he lost 2.5 on him, there is no way that he is worth that much.

One thing though- how pissed off would you be if you had bought a shirt recently with 'Beattie 9' on the back? 9 & 10 free- midfielder and centre forward coming our way??!

Beattie was good for the club but no very successful, for the team. I wish him all the best for the future and hope he does well with the blades. It is unfortunate that he never found his feet with us but these things happen.

Farewell James. All the good luck in the world to you for the future.

Anything else?

What I hate is this oh he did well, he was good, he gave it 100%. Bollocks. When he was here he was slagged off by everyone. The boy was overweight, his recent record is [Poor language removed] appalling. 2 goals and none from open play, not good enough, so yeah, thanks for [Poor language removed] nothing!
