Surely he was correct.

I found that. I already knew that Nitrogen was close to 80% and Oxygen was about 20%.
I’m confused.
Just watched again and realised that the contestant jumped in and answered the question before it was finished. I suspect the full question had one more word which was Mars.
Poor sod.

N2 is correct as @tommye said.
Amazed if they got that wrong - perhaps they mentioned a different planet and you didn't hear it? Mars atmosphere is mainly CO2

The full question would have finished "...planet Venus?" but the lad went early. You could just hear Bradley Walsh start the Ve before he was interrupted.

It actually depends where and when you take the sample, for instance across most of the earth the predominant gas would be nitrogen at any time, however if you were to take your sample in the Upper Bullens on matchday its nearly 96% ale farts.
