They were mate,I was there too!!Can't recall many other Jigsaw goals,I think he got one at QPR in the famous 3-2 "Hinchcliffe" game,I always felt he was useful bringing on as a sub if we had a lead to stretch defenders with his pace as a willing runner, not the best but a really good fella anyhow:)

Yep deffo scored one in that game against QPR ( that was a great win that;) ). Also I can't remember if when Jimmy Gabriel was caretaker manager and we had gone 9 hours without a goal he scored ( or it may have been Billy Kenny ) away against Chelsea. We still got beat like lol

I remember TC missing a pen in the cup to equalise down there too around that time macca!

diamond was a better servant over a longer period of time

Little unfair that as Beardsley was sold by Kendall. I think it was on A Question of Sport he talked about it briefly. He said he went in to see Kendall expecting to sign a new contract and was told he was going back to Newcastle. In his autobiography he talks about scoring in a winning Derby against Liverpool as being one of the highlights of his career...

Talent wise Beardsley by a landslide but it seems a few on here forget how important Stuart was for us in a tough period for the club . And I'm not just talking about the Wimbledon game .

Beardsley was 1 of the best players of his generation, yeah Stuart scored a goal that kept us up & won a cup & even became 1 of us but Peter Beardsley was an absolutely class footballer.

I couldnt believe it when we signed him tbh, I dont remember thinking that with Stuart.

Barlow, pace of a leopard and the finish of a cow lol

Talking of Ipswich, I went to an away game and Barlow scored both in a rare 2-0 away win. Missed both goal taking a leak! Gonna take a look for that goal now against Ipswich at the Park End. Limited player but you could tell he cared and he done well to forge a decent career out of football as well.

It's a belter mate!

Sure I've relayed this on here. Anyway a mate of mine was a chef in the lounges at Goodison back in the day (did a couple of seasons as a waiter there meself when at uni). The kitchen had a door which opened onto the players tunnel - no joke - used to stand there just as they were going out to cheer them on.

Anyway one day me mate is setting up and staff are late turning up. "Some blonde kid walks in asking for a sandwich, so I told him to get washing the veg and I'd make him a $£%^"!£ sandwich" was how me mate relayed it. Bit later, someone else walks in and says "New job Stuart?" - "Not in the squad today" he replied - my mate (Tranmere fan) had no idea that an Everton 1st teamer was his assistant that day.

lol boss that!

still cant believe Sourness let us have Beardo for £1m. apart from Coleman, it must be the be one of the best value for money signings ever. we were certainly almost a one man team for those 2 seasons.
