Pundits, commentary, lack of adverts, whatever the reason.

IMO BBC have got the better studio, pundits (they actually speak English), anchor (Chiles is a bell), better pieces and lack of adverts.

However, who really cares?
 

They're both absolutely awful, but Townsend/Tyldesley + adverts + Adrian Chiles means that the Beeb is 1.8 million times better.
 
I don't mind Steve Bunce on the BBC or Lawrenson and Pearce gave me a laugh. Keown has an annoying face but he's not too bad. Gary Lineker you can't complain about. On ITV, Matterface and Clarke Carlisle are just awful. But tonight's commentator Joe Speight was ok, and Lee Dixon is not so bad. Got to be the BBC though - I grew up with MOTD and when 'The Premiership' started coming on ITV it was surreal with it's U2 theme tune and all that. I prefer Neil Lennon to Gordon Strachan also!
 

ITV are woeful at live footy. Have been for years.

The Beeb do it so much better, apart from Phil Neville and Jonathon Pearce.

I don't understand how ITV thought Cannavaro, Wright, Andros Townsend, etc etc were good choices for the "punditry" team.

Ok, Shearer and Ferdinand aren't brilliant but at least they speak English! (....well, kinda)

he's a disgrace, he can barely communicate, I just don't know how the selection process work, seedorf and henry are a breath of fresh air, but why pick a pundit like ferdinand, disliked by most, and clearly not the brightest, and pip neville has clearly been sucking the right poles as usual, a man whose entire life has evolved around being picked for something he isn't good enough at

Oh I agree - although tonight was the first occasion on which I have watched coverage on domestic TV since the World Cup began, so I haven't had to put up with Savage yet.

The beeb have hired some pyar tosh to provide opinion on the footy.

I should however have been more specific about not being specific, in that I love the entire BBC, and I am less into Lineker and co.

I do like Clarence Seedorf though.
 
This doesn't really make sense though cause ITV are the station that is for profit so should have a greater incentive to choose a better punditry team than the bbc, doesn't make sense. BBC and ITV need a clear out of a lot of their team tbh but BBC by far better glen hoddle is an idiot, he managed an actual professionalfootball team. Strachan's reply to his england team was it's a good team if your opponent doesn't attack you which was pretty funny, he had gerrard, rooney and lallana in the holding role
