The beeb has successfully converted me from being an adoring fan to frothing disliker over the last 15 years.

Heres a survey - plenty of opportunities to suggest that :

1. We need fewer rs pundits
2. There are 90 odd other league clubs they could mention other than jizzing over the same 5 or 6 every week.
3. Some programming other than gossip and celebs might be appreciated by the men folk of the planet (and the non-bbc-stereotype ladies), eg technical stuff, electronics, engineering, science, history - stuff about IDEAS rather than people, yadder yadder.

Stop employing tories, nonces and Danny Murphy.”

Send.
It's really interesting how different opinions can form around a particular subject matter. I live in a predominantly pro-Tory area and grew up in a predominantly pro-Tory family; most of my friends vote Tory. I don't know anyone IRL who thinks that the BBC is remotely pro-Tory.

Obviously there is 100% consensus regarding your other points.

There's a crossover in views about seeing the upper middle classes as Tory by default. And the BBC relentlessly targets the upper middle class almost to the exclusion of everyone else.

So whilst the news content may be left of centre generally, the actual programming isn't.

of course many of those people complain endlessly about the country whilst also calling people snowflakes

I can't even remember the last time I watched any live TV so my licence fee is a complete waste of money. I'd happily see the BBC scrapped. I could get used to seeing a few adverts in the middle of MOTD.

That's a very interesting take. I think I see what you mean - antiques roadshow and country file probably don't have a huge following in the Muslim community, the LGBTQ+ demographic, or the food bank / universal credit part of the economic scale.

Totally disagree. Happy to pay to have ad-free.
The license fee is a tax! No one likes taxes but we all have to pay taxes for things we don't like or even use. e.g. No kids but a large amount of someone's tax still goes on education, no car but some of your tax goes on roads. Not to bothered about starting WW3 ... tough. as some of your taxes goes on defence and weapons etc etc etc.

That said should be free to disabled, retired etc and completely agree about the use of multiple useless footy pundits.

Cut costs dramatically across all of the BBC and try to reduce the licence fee is an option I would support. Only need 1 person presenting MOTD (remember when Jimmy Hill did it by himself), only need 1 person on the Breakfast and the One show etc, etc, etc

Its the massive management circus that they need to address, re costs.

But even though I rarely watch a BBC TV show, and have totally binned off most of their radio output cos its hosted by children to grab the yoof market, when I do use it, its excellent.

Compare live football on the radio between 5 Live and Talksport, and you will see what I mean.
