Should be an intereesting one to watch.

To our great credit the club went over there and played Derry at the height of the so called 'Troubles'. Howard played a full strength team.
Does it mention or show that on the programme Dave ? I've taped it.

Super watch, i remember when they came back into the league and used to see them heading down the road in an open back truck in the middle of winter, lads in the back and them playing down in Limerick or Galway. They also played a shield final in Sligo against Longford Town that i went to and filled the ground on their own.

A Donegal man Billy Gillespie, the captain of the last Sheffield United team to win a major trophy, spent eight years there as manager. Billys connections with Sheffield United, are the reason why Derry City just like the blades play in red and white stripes. It was the clubs way of paying tribute to him.

I alerted others to it but have been distracted by this scab league stuff.
I watched it following your mention, I was only a young lad when all the troubles were on the go, I'm much more interested in any form of history now I'm older, Derry City you saw rising above the troubles and the people were just remarkable in getting behind and reviving their club from nothing, even more reason for those greedy bar stewards this week to be ashamed of themselves.
