I hate Liverpool more than anyone. Even davek. I truly despise the bastards and would love nothing more than them to fold/get relegated infinitely.

But that doesn't mean I can't like Barcelona just because some Liverpool fans do (even though they only wanted them to beat United.)

Artetafan's right to an extent, though. Why do people say 'focus on just us, they don't matter' etc? We have a massive rivalry ffs.

Don't think anyone at all said that. Just that people can think for themselves and shouldn't dislike another team for the sole reason that Liverpool fans like them.

Next it will be...OK, so Liverpool fans want Bayern to win the final, so we as Everton fans should want Chelsea to win it. Local rivalry has nothing to do with preferences for other football teams.

You listen to the media and other fans endlessly say how good they are and you want them to lose just out of contraryness. Same reason I find myself rooting for **** like Justin Beiber and Twilight because I've never heard/read them so all I know is that people can't stop ripping on them.

I even nearly bought a pint of Carlsberg once. Stopped just in time though, when I realised that I could in some small way be contributing to LFC's coffers.

Whereas liking another football club which some of them happen to like as well does no such thing.
