Player Valuation: £70m
Will end in tears IMO.

Bayern appear to be buying for the sake of it and it doesn't always work out well. Real have made that mistake in the past.

Also, as remarkable as his achievements are with Barca, that was his club, his fans and players who will have revered him at points. Also, that was an unbelievable group who'dplayed together for a long, long time. That style of play was evolving years before he took the reins.

It wont be like that at Bayern. They've got a different set-up, different heroes and different values as a club.

I don't think he'll struggle domestically but I don't think he'll win the CL even if he's there for 3-4 years.

dont rate him for that, moving to a team that has won the league by 20 points and have more money to spend in the summer, not even a challenge.

you'd rather he went to Luton? FFS the guy has made himself the best and most sought after manager around. Why wouldn't he move to one of the worlds best clubs?

Bayern have only bought one player... The bUndesliga's best homegrown player for the past 2 years. How is that buying for the sake of it?

Bought lewandowski, too.

That's the reason I cant take seriously the shouts for him being a legendary manager. The Dutch influence is strong there. He just took it on and tweaked stuff. Now he'll step into a Bayern set up that's up and running.

I think it takes skills to win stuff with a great team.

Different skills to being able to build a team, but to take over a talented team and turn them into world beaters the way guardiola and kovacs and lattek did is a skill in itself. And possibly a harder one.

There's a reason people laugh at the idea of an allardyce or a moyes going into real or inter and winning trophies.

Because Moyes is far too big for either of those teams.

COME ON RAWK, QUOTE ME

He's been a success and good at what he needed to do, yes. My argument though is that legendary status should be conferred on visionaries who took hold of a club and revolutionised it from top to bottom, taking it on a long journey to the top and keeping it there for a sustained period. You'd have to say a manager like Shankly did that at Liverpool; Ferguson did it at United; Clough at Forest or Rinnus Michels at Ajax. People who's personalities are stamped into the fabric of every part of their respective clubs.

Cruyff is the michels or shankly figure here and guardiola the paisley or kovacs figure.

Don't think there's any argument there.

Personally I think the Rijkaard team was more exciting to watch than the current one. The Guardiola teams were incredibly reliant upon the genius of Messi, to the extent that teams have sussed out that if you can snuff him out, you can often snuff Barca out.

The front three under Rijkaard of Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Messi was way more threatening than the current attack. Villa is a shadow of his former self, Pedro is decent without being great, Alexis has massively underwhelmed, whilst Tello et al are still very young. It's not good that Fabregas is I think their 2nd top scorer.

You saw against PSG that without Messi, the team is very beatable. I know it's cynical and all, but I'm a little bit surprised that someone hasn't done to Messi what Goicoechea did to Maradona given his importance to the team. Should add that I hope no one does as he's a complete joy to watch, but such are the stakes, it's a little surprising no one has gone to snidish means.

Got to admit I lost some respect for him over this move, it just strikes me as playing it safe. I'd love to see one of these so called "great" managers take charge of an Everton or a Sevilla or something one day.

This.

I infinitely preferred Rijkaard's team. Ronaldinho was just something else. I also loved Deco, he was a fine player in his prime.
