now you're gonna hear about it
Is this anything?

Is it the future of football and global marketing, or just another idea for another day?

Or is this something substantial that EFC have missed out on... again?

Bayern Munich and FC Dallas launch youth development partnership

Bayern Munich and MLS club FC Dallas have launched a youth development partnership.

The two clubs will "come together to exchange talent, allowing young players to experience different coaching styles and settings to enhance their development," Bayern said in a statement on their official website.

Bayern, who opened an office in New York in 2014, are looking to "help support the growth of soccer in the U.S.," internationalisation executive Jorg Wacker said.

"The United States is home to our very first international office, highlighting our commitment to engaging and growing Bayern's fan base in the Americas."

Both clubs announced that opportunities for youth teams to play fixtures against one another were also part of the partnership.

Young Dallas players will also get the chance to refine their skills at Bayern while remaining on the books of the MLS club.

The statement added: "In December, three U.S. homegrown players (Bryan Reynolds, Paxton Pomykal and Reggie Cannon) from Dallas visited Munich to experience the same training as Bayern stars."

Dallas chairman Clark Hunt said he was "thrilled" by the agreement and added: "One of our primary goals is to develop an academy and a club that can compete at the highest level on a global scale.

"This unprecedented partnership with one of the most successful clubs in the world marks a significant step toward that goal, and we look forward to working closely with the outstanding leadership at FC Bayern."

Dallas midfielder Weston McKennie joined German club Schalke in 2016, where he was promoted to the senior squad last summer.

loads of clubs do it, never really leads to anything notable in my memory.

It would be interesting to hear about a success story in one of these partnerships.

It's probably nothing, except that these are too of the more aggressive clubs in the US Market--Bayern having an office in NYC and FC Dallas having (in the eyes of many) the top US youth academy. Will definitely be interested in seeing what comes of this.

Basically FCBayern are on the hunt for another Pulisic.

In doing so they’re slightly raising their profile amongst the states, can sample some of their talent when they go to Bayern for visits and can fish out any potential talent.

For the small price Bayern will be paying it’s a win win really.

Dallas win as their youth players will have the opportunity to visit the anazing facilities and improve from that.

FC Dallas is like the Southampton of MLS. Fantastic youth system, but the ownership either can’t or won’t spend money on proven talent.

Also with all the players coming up from central and South America MLS is becoming a bit more of a technical and flair league. Doesn’t hurt to expose your academy kids to a completely different style of play.

I don't think it's anything big. I also don't think the club has missed out on anything in this aspect of carving out real estate in American soccer. Which I don't regard as important in being a top or even just a better club.

I could be wrong, but I believe Barcelona has something similar, I'm not sure if it's associated with any of the New York clubs where they built or are building a training ground to find youth talent and I'm pretty sure it's largely a scam. Like much in youth American soccer.

You get a chance to go out on the field in front of some irrelevant staff, receive a little instruction, and pay a few thousand dollars.

Minor investment on their part, might pay off.

Would be pretty hilarious if the impetus to fix the FUBAR American youth football program was a bunch of European clubs coming over and investing in youth programs hoping to unearth future ballers.

FFS Paraguay's youth system is lightyears ahead of ours.
