If Bayern fans are going to stay out of Emirates Stadium for the first five minutes of the upcoming Tuesday Champions League matchup (to protest ticket prices..), why not really protest and stay home ? My Father used to say "Vote with your feet", i.e. don't patronize a business if you disagree with their practices. The prices for this match don't seem that outlandish (somewhere around 60+ GBP, 100 with other charges), especially considering that Bayern tickets cost approximately 100 GBP for standing and 250 for a seat. Any thoughts ?

Similarly, voting with your feet doesn't work at top level football. You think if those lads jibbed the Arsenal game that Bayern still wouldn't sell their allocation?
The clubs know they've got people by the bollocks. This is a visual thing, that will get the commentators talking about the issue.

Also where on earth have you got those Bayern prices from?

ou can buy tickets for FC Bayern games online, or in person at the Bayern ServiceCenter at the Säbener Straße 51-57 (in the south of the city).

Bayern sell out every home league match though and it is nearly impossible for non-members to get tickets, even in pre-sale. An alternative is to try your luck on the official Bayern ticket exchange on viagogo.

Bayern have divided their home matches into two pricing categories. Tickets for Category A matches, the most expensive, range in price from €35.00 for a seat at the upper tier behind the goal to €70.00 for most seats at the sides. Tickets for category B matches, the cheapest, range in price from €30.00 to €60.00. Tickets for the standing areas behind the goals go in both cases for €15.00.

For more information call +49 (0) 89 699 31 333 or email tickets@fcb.de.

Tickets for TSV 1860 can be purchased online, by phone +49 (0) 1805 601860 (Tickethotline), at the club’s Ticketcenter at the Grünwalder Straße 114 (in the south of the city), or at the club’s fanshop at the Orlandostraße 8 (in the city centre).

Tickets can also be bought at the stadium gates on the day of the match.

Ticket prices range from €19.90 for an upper-tier seat behind the goal to €36.00 for most lower-tier seats at the main stand. A ticket for the standing areas behind the goal costs €14.00.

Thanks guys. The ticket prices came from an article posted today on Yahoo. I understand the bent over a barrel concept, but at some point don't fans have to put their dollars behind their opinions ? I hear the same thing about NFL football games, but fans still flock to watch the NE Pats at Gillette Stadium, paying $50 for parking and $10 for a beer. Not to mention $100 or so for tickets. And BTW, if they want to make a point, why not come in after the half, or not at all ? At the 5 minute point in most sporting events in LA, folks are still on the highway!

What?? Seriously?

*faints*
Absolutely. Of course, over here, you pay the $50 USD to tailgate, so I suppose it is somewhat comparable to going to the pub prior to the game over there, but still, there is a residual overhead involved here. Even MLS game parking is $40!

Not everywhere. Parking at Miller Park (Brewers, only baseball team with a tailgating culture) is $12-$25, depending on how close you want to get and what day of the week the game is. There are also public transit (bus) options.

Lambeau Field (Packers, who like Bayern sell out every game) is $25-$40, again depending on how close to the stadium you want to be.
